Family Session in Mount Jackson, Virginia | Virginia Lifestyle Family Photographer

When Rachael contacted me for her family pictures, I was so excited… I love their space!

‘The Laurin” cabin is the perfect place to reconnect with loved ones, and slowdown from the frenetic DMV life. Located up to the mountains, in Mount Jackson, the cabin is lovely decorated, dog friendly and just a heaven if you are looking for a place to relax. Rachael wanted an in-home lifestyle session, focused on the emotional connections between the family members. So, we decided to plan a main activity, like making brownies, and let the interactions between the kids and parents do their things… And therefore, we made some magic… we captured some shots in the kitchen, where real expressions took the place of fake smiles, and then on the living room floor, where it was fun to see the way the family connects within each other and with the surroundings. After baking and playing on the floor, we decided to go in a little adventure and went to an orchard nearby. The place had an amazing view of the Shenandoah mountains and I enjoyed having the kids running around, exploring the area and soaking in the beautiful sunset light. Everything about this session screamed perfection. The styling, the love between the family members, and the beautiful scenario only the Shenandoah park can offer.
